But hold on... How are you going to offer?
Determining which field to put your business on is challenging and we're here help. We've put together a 4-step guide to help you create and promote the best content for your business.
1. Have a look at the mirror
Your choice of a specialty is contingent heavily on your areas of knowledge. Do you have a great knowledge of one particular field, for example, cooking gambling, investing or cooking? What are you most interested to do in your free time? What are you passionate about?
By keeping the responses to these questions in mind then you'll get a much clearer understanding of the value you bring to the table. You can then go deeper into topics you know most about, and exclude the ones you're not as interested in. Check out The Product Creation Masterclass on CreatorU to improve your ideas for a product.
2. Check out your possible competition
After you've chosen the general subject, you can make an inventory of the buzzwords and phrases someone might use to describe that topic. Then go to Google and do some research. Find out what other internet-based firms are doing to sell their products on this subject and also see the top-selling products they offer. This will give you insights into the strategies of successful businesses in your field in addition to helping to avoid a crowded market.

3. Find your niche within the marketplace
After researching similar businesses and competitors, you should look for holes in terms of content or solutions to solve customer problems which aren't addressed by potential rivals. For example, maybe your specialty is teaching people how to cook in the kitchen at home. There are a lot of cooking blogs out there for free, but how many of them offer customized menu plans? Does any cater to specific dietary needs?
Your company should target a niche in the market that needs your expertise and experience. The more targeted the market and the more appropriate customers will be able to find your products and offers. Watch Finding Your Hook on CreatorU to find out more.
