In May 2013, we introduced a new marketing course named The Fan Page Funnel. The course cost just under $1000. Pretty expensive, I know.

We put together an entire launch event for the product around the time of release of the new product soon after which we began selling, emails began flowing into.

"Do you provide an option for payment plans? I'm not able to afford $1,000 right now but I really want to take the course!"

This was an extremely painful email to get. There were thousands of prospective customers who wanted to buy, however, they couldn't.

So, we knew what was needed to be done. The rest of the day figuring out ways to create a second payment option, and we ended up creating an entirely separate checkout page.

That meant we had to include two Buy Now buttons on our sales page. one for each payment method. ($997 or 12 installments of $199)

How a Payment Plan Doubled our Sales

At the time that the campaign was over, we had more than 500 people sign up for the plan of payment. It was almost 50% of our sales! Evidently, our payment plan was an excellent concept. It also helped us earn more money because of it.

Now that we use in our businesses We realized we'd need an option to add those'second payment options for one checkout page. This will prevent potential customers to navigate to a separate checkout page.

The Big Announcement...

Well, we have some amazing news...starting today the addition of a second payment option on the checkout template is now possible.

We're very looking forward to seeing the things you can do with this new feature. We're going to be learning much over the coming couple of weeks...

  • which type of payment plan will convert the best
  • What is the most affordable price to make a second installment payment
  • what number of payments are the most effective for conversion (e.g. 12 installments of $99. 6 one-time payments of $199)

We'll keep you informed you once the data begins to roll in.
