Why People Magic Changes Everything

Chief Executive Officer, Gina Bianchini, recently posted some ideas on the reasons why communities don't work, the reasons why communities are doing wrong, and how people magic can change the world.

The data has stopped me dead in my tracks.

I was looking over a forecast model that showed the accuracy of 93% the likelihood that a community will be successful or not.

It was plain like a day. One thing was all that did matter.

It also influenced what we launched today at .

What is it that surprised you?

The issue was not the amount a creator posted.

Or how much of an creator's material has been consumed.

or if the designer created a sophisticated marketing funnel.

or if affiliates promoted them.

All of this were crucial to the ultimate success.

The Unexpected Information

It was directly linked to how frequently members communicated or worked with one another.

This was a result of the connections that people made rather than the information they consumed.

The was the result of finding the most relevant individuals and not simply following the creator.

The result was of members taking courses with each other, not by themselves.

It was the result of member's questions, which they were stoked to answer, not just go through.

What can anyone learn from HTML0 using a community, course, or members?

When your members are actually connected, you earn more money and have a more effect.

A 93% prediction model isn't just a joke.

It reflects the experiences of millions of courses and communities--businesses that generated over $370M last year alone.

We were aware of this before we began  the community website which I co-founded in the year 2017.

But to see the accuracy of this data over six years, and the thousands of courses and communities later was both humbling and thrilling.

Awe-inspiring because that's where we started before we created the most comprehensive and popular platform to run communities and online courses all under one roof. .

A platform that now includes chat, feeds, content, courses, events, livestreaming, payments marketing funnels, Integrations customized mobile applications , and much more.

Fantastic because we could now use all of this as the foundation for doing something that was not possible until now.

Community platforms are built on the broken promises of

Users join and start communities with excitement and greatest possible intentions.

It's more than your content, experiences or information that you've promised them. It's also the results they hope to get.

It's the possibility of meeting new people who are on the same journey.

It's possible that they're outwardly doubtful, but once they sign up to the Slack, Discord, or WhatsApp group, at least a tiny part of them hopes they'll get to know people that they would like to connect with or learn from. They might maybe even make acquaintances.

After that, they're dropped to the discussion.

The chat where the same handful of people post every day and everyone else may visit once a while until they are bored.

There's no other method to find out how many people are here and get to know people.

Sure, it's familiar. You're not going to get fired for starting a Discord or even launching a podcast via Slack.

But no one is meeting each other.

If they're, it's only because you or they have put in a lot of effort to get it occur.

It's much easier to have your new building approved in NYC or open a small business in San Francisco.

This method is akin to an online community, but it's nowhere as close as what's feasible.

How did we get this far?

In order to see the potential solution, you should start at the very beginning.

The mainstream platforms that have come to determine how we view the community have one obvious feature that they share.

The HTML0 was created by people who knew one another.

Facebook group were designed for small groups of classmates at college who wanted to coordinate social activities.

Slack was built by small teams of startup companies to coordinate work.

Discord was created to be used by small groups of friends playing video games.

WhatsApp was created to help families who want to keep in touch across the world.

In fact, the newest crop of community sites aren't designed for those who are meeting for the first times. In their cases they have to deliver simple community functions. It's not as simple as it seems.

The process of creating chat, comments, and an rudimentary page for your profile is easy. But getting users to stay around and build relationships that's the problem.
We're aware. At , we've done it.

You might be in doubt about my claim that users will be in groups in 2024 to connect with new people but are disappointed by platforms built for friends.
Do you want to learn the truth?

It's member profiles.

Facebook group pages don't feature specific profiles for members of that specific group. Similar to Reddit.

Slack has a brief scrolling with a picture and the name. Not enough to get an impression of someone who is not.

Discord is exactly the same.

What about WhatsApp? There's nothing. No profile.

If you were to get to really meet any of them it would be impossible.

This is what we're going to be talking about when we speak about meeting people in the same direction.

To be fair The reason that the platforms don't have a system for people to meet each other is that they don't need to be.

They've made extremely profitable companies by creating apps for communication to people who have a connection with each the other.

They don't need to worry about connecting individuals to one another or thinking about communities of strangers who come together with an purpose , interest or objective.

And because people are acquainted with them, a lot choose to consider this the highest level that can be achieved with a community.

    However, the results aren't great.

It's just settling for a shadow of what's feasible.

I hate having to settle. For me, luckily and my family, they too.

What is the ideal community?

A perfect community is one that you join because it's made with a purpose. The members and you know the reason you're here.

Typically, it indicates that you've been following a creator an entrepreneur or other brand you trust to a new community that offers courses, memberships or livestreams. It could even an event series.

But rather than getting a direct entry into an online chat that is dominated by the one percent of the members think about having quite a quite different encounter.

The possibilities are endless within the first couple of minutes when you join.

After discovering the community, you sign up. It's a simple process of answering a few concerns about yourself and your reasons for why you're there. Then you join, and the host will be there to greet you just as they did at an amazing IRL event or at the most memorable seminar you've been to.

They start suggesting other members that you might like to get acquainted with. The people are incredibly interesting. In contrast to the dismal algorithmic matching that were in use before, this feels different.

You know that AI may be working behind the scenes, or, if you're lucky, might even be a host who is showing the viewers how to navigate. But it's not awkward or an in-your-face bot. It's more comfortable, and feels more like a natural.

It's actually much more real than what you've ever experienced within a virtual community.

Everyone you meet is eager to get to know you. You're also excited to get to know them.
You continue to answer some incredible questions, which seem specifically tailored to the community. Through this, you start getting to know other the members. They too are super interesting.

Your (software) host offers various ways that the community could aid you in reaching your objectives. Meetups coming up in your area and workshops that are currently in the process of being scheduled or trips the members have taken in a group, or other types of membership organizations you thought were possible but hadn't found prior to now.

Every step you take, you're getting to know people. For instance, recently you met up in person with a few folks and had a great time. Now, you're taking the virtual class together, and will be attending a live event close to you in the next few months.

When you get deeper into the world of community, there are opportunities to learn new skills and new people to learn from.

    However, it never feels overwhelming.

Your (software) hosts are always able to be able to deliver the appropriate invitations, messages or reminders just at the right time.

You don't realize it initially, but eventually the entire system works.

Helps you stay connected to people, do new things, and connect with amazing people in what seems to be the right moment.

  • You're coming back more often.
  • You're contributing.
  • It's faster to learn.
  • You're tackling bigger challenges.
  • You're seeing greater rewards.
  • In reality, you're meeting new individuals and making new friends.

This is unlike any other experience you've had before.

Does it sound like the story of a fairytale?

This is not any fairy tale. This is what we're building today.

In order to welcome this brand new era There are five essential elements a member-based platform must excel at:

  1. Make surfacing relevant members an initial priority. If you place human beings in a bland members list, there's nothing exciting in it. It's crucial to enthrallingly display and connect the most important persons to each other.
  2. Truly showcase people in their profiles. Create profiles that are interesting and extremely relevant to the community. It's a good opportunity to show the person visiting another user's profile what they have in common and also other interesting members to explore.
  3. You can ask amazing questions. There's a well-tested strategy to encourage participants to respond to questions and initiate discussions. It's all about applying it to the specific purpose of an individual community. AI now makes this possible--and it's getting it done.
  4. Include things for the group to do together. Surface double opt-in introductions, scheduled events, courses such as livestreams and other programming in accordance with the member's stated goals as well as their participation in the community. Keep making the suggestions smarter, using millions of information points.
  5. Make use of AI to constantly optimize every process to maximize effect. Then, implement cutting-edge software to create extraordinary performance. Learn what makes those connections with members the most beneficial. The most effective way to communicate. Also, the best sequencing as well as frequency for reminders pushes and various methods.

After that, you can apply and adjust this system to every community, course and individual.

It's not easy however it's the right thing to do.

It's an entirely new layer of intelligent that increases the chance real humans to establish real relationships with people in actual communities. Communities that are digital but then quickly extend to real-life too.

It is also known as people magical.

Today, we're launching the very first chapter of HTML0.

Magic is created by people.

The magic of people is starting with a new 'people explorer' that will make it easier to meet other members. Today that's top members and new members. Also, there are people near you, as well as people who are active right now. However, you'll be able to quickly determine the next steps.

It is possible to dynamically arrange various segments of your members in order that they are able to find each others, observe similarities and get introduced based on many relevant aspects.

We then redesigned the profile of a member with brand new member badges and soon custom fields that are specialized to a specific community or course.

That's not all. We've added other relevant users to explore, so that each profile serves as an entry point for other members similar to you by what they have in the same.

For this reason, we added more granular user management options that allow you to build the same detailed profiles of your members behind-the-scenes as you can publicly to connect them to each other.

Another thing.

We think the most successful communities and courses are ones that live under your brand.
I mean, we love Mighty and many other people, but the channel is not seen enough. We're not trying to create an additional Facebook group, Slack, Discord, or Reddit.

This means your community and classes can be offered via your personal branded website application, email, or, if it's a fit with your brand, you can even have your own customized iOS and Android applications.
Our belief is that technology which connects members using the methods I'm describing makes it possible for any creator or brand to establish a community programs, or a membership that can stand on its own.

Your friends will be there for you, each other as well as the magic of people.

We make it happen on the back of our heads.

You will be credited with the credit.

It is all about people

Do people have the power to magically make you money and ensure greater impact?

Absolutely.

I mentioned earlier the $370 million creators, entrepreneurs, and brands have earned from Mighty last year.

This was before people magic and the critical knowledge that classes and memberships are successful or not by the connections of members.

With people magic, members have more reasons to join, contribute, and stick around. As a result? Retention and loyalty.

What happens when members reach their goals with other people who are who are on the same track? They'll discuss it with new individuals. Word-of-mouth starts to generate new customers without a costly marketing funnel.

Finally, as members take courses, or sign up for memberships, stick around for longer and achieve more quicker, they will gain more worth. They're willing to pay more.
To summarize, with people magic:

  • People stay longer.
  • New members join faster and more inexpensively.
  • The user will get more and pay more.

The opportunity is massive.

But the stakes are higher than the business opportunity alone.

What if we mess it up?

If we do not employ AI and the latest technology to organize a truly authentic community and build connections, it's possible that things won't end well.

In the present, we spend on average eight hours a day consuming media.

Content that gives the illusion of connection without the real thing.

and it's making a lot of us miserable.

Add AI assistants as well as software companions, and we're bubble in the air even more.

When we parlay our consumption of content into time spent interacting with synthetic approximations of people who will meet your every wish, need, and whim and whim, we're not creating connections with real people.

The truth is we're getting worse at meaningful human interaction.

We're on a path to worsen it.

If we do not harness the power of the most advanced, most powerful, and most intelligent software to link people Utilize it to strengthen connections, and use it to strengthen our relations, we're advancing from being awkward to becoming unsustainable.

There is no way to stop people from using HTML0.

Eight billion of us that have to live on the same globe. Even when we can explore the stars, we're going to sit in the line with others on a spaceship.

People love people

One final thought.

It may not seem like it at times today However, we are attracted to other people. The purpose of our existence is to accomplish our goals faster and with less effort in a community.

People are awesome. Weak, messy and fallible, but awesome.

We design.

We can learn.

We debate.

We solve hard problems.

We innovate.

We fail.

Then we come up with a few additional.

We are grieving.

We forgive.

We are gracious.

We can heal.

We love.

Utilizing the capabilities of technology that is revolutionary that truly connects people More people will have greater access to this more of the time.

We could mitigate the risks of AI creating bubble wrapped people through AI that facilitates beautiful experiences with actual humans.

I am convinced that if we take this path that we'll prosper.
