The Membership Model that Works Regardless of the Economy
This article refers to the podcast interview of Brian Kurtz, a master of direct sales marketing that is available to listen and watch the full conversation with Brian Kurtz right here.
The most recent podcast we released with Brian Kurtz, one thing he said that caught my focus was that " Once people renew one time, the chance of them renewing again increases."
Brian also mentions that " renewals give me the highest satisfaction."
It's about the recurring revenue. Subscriptions. Continuity.
There's currently lots of debate regarding our economy, and whether or not we're actually in a recession. I'm not an expert in economics or the definition of a recession.
What I do know is that in COVID when a lot of businesses were struggling in the online world, training courses and online courses performed better than they had ever due to the fact that people were sitting at their homes, watching their laptops, bored and they knew that they had to improve the skills they had.
If you have skills which you are able to teach others, believe me when I say you have potential for the business of your dreams.
There are a lot of different models you can use to create a membership website However, if you're looking for something more recession proof, allows you to reach more people, and provides a steady stream of income the best option is to consider offering subscriptions.
You can make a million dollars selling $39/m subscriptions one at an time. Look at the news companies, Netflix, Spotify .... And it will probably be easier to sell $2,000 of courses in a single course.
Why?
Because the upfront investment is comparatively small. And once you get someone who is on the subscription and they keep renewing, each year the probability of renewal grows.
You can sell only once, and keep the money throughout the duration of the subscription. In addition to what you're doing to generate new revenue.
I would strongly recommend adding an element of continuity your model of membership if it haven't done it yet.
But even more than that, I suggest you watch the entire interview with Brian Kurtz because there is an unbelievable amount of practical knowledge and advice.

I know that there's lots of awesome products that folks have been building over time. However, when it comes to personalization, if your are using WordPress it's impossible to do this. Obviously, I'm super bias, but we've earned millions through this program."
