Even though Forbes has labeled 2022 as the best year to watch the creator economy but the constant changes make it challenging and overwhelming to keep in the loop of current trends. We asked creators to share their online businesses including content they create, strategies for monetization, and the various digital goods they offer. Below are some of the most compelling highlights we found:

  • About 50% of creatorssaid that they began an online company as they wanted to be their own boss.
  • The three top industries that the most creators are in include personal development, marketing and business along with health and well-being.
  • Three of the creatorswho have full-time jobs earn more than six figures a year.
  • 74% of the authors said that they used social networks because it was where they interacted with their audience the most.
  • 32 percent of creators with an audience earn $10k to $49k. 19 percent earn $100k-249k. This is the biggest percentage that income tier of any digital product.

  Methodology  

The insights that are revealed in this study are first-party information. The survey was sent to over 10,000 active customers from June 2nd to the 7th of June in 2022. The total sample included 528 complete responses with the 95% confidence interval and 5 percent chance of error. We are unable to access information about customers' email accounts using an alternative email marketing service as well as we are not able to record the revenue figures for transactions or revenues that are processed outside of the platform. Data is provided used for general analysis only. The individual responses remain confidential and we don't share information about the individual's identity with any third party.
