     Aaron is a member of the same software engineering company over the last five years. He's a highly respected employee who is hardworking and an integral part of the team. He recognizes that his contribution to the company, yet hasn't done enough to merit recognition for it.

     "I am in my present position for quite a long time, and I have been working for a while. I'm aware my inability to be the best when it comes to ensuring that I'm rewarded for my efforts. My performance is praised in awe by my boss. I have overseen countless tasks that I was extremely in and which were very efficient. I am not sure how I am able to be promoted and request for an increment. The people must believe that I'm well-off. Maybe I don't deserve it? I argue about whether or not I deserve it. It seems like I need to convince myself more."

Most of the comments I receive are positive. Most of the negative ones don't come from the people who hide behind screens - they are directly from me. I find it hard to avoid criticizing myself, and this can cause anxieties, self-doubt or fear. It can also lead to feeling like an unauthentic person. I recently signed my largest brand agreement to date, but rather than being happy, I started to wonder 'when do they find out the wrong?'"

He has worked long and hard to get to the top of his class, and has earned numerous scholarships at some of the best colleges in America. However, he feels as though he got fortunate with his scholarship and seems not at the right level.

     "My entire life my family struggled. We weren't from a rich neighborhood or a stunning area of the city. My mom was amazed that even one of her kids had the capability of sticking it out at high school. It was not easy at times for us. However, we made it through. Today, I'm accepted to the best school in my community and am able enough to cover my expenses while at the University. I can't help but think whether they offered me scholarships because they know I'm black and they want to ensure that the campus is more diverse, or what if I actually earned the money. The fact that I'm one of only a few student of color in my high school causes me to feel like my college experience isn't going to make much of a differences. A number of times I've been asked which country I'm from and how I arrive here causes me to wonder if truly belong anywhere within the global community. All I know is that people of color are not ever faced by these types of questions."
