Space and movement in illustrations The CreativeMindClass Blog
From the time as a young child I've always loved drawing, paint, and work with my hands. This has always been the most natural way to express myself. But growing in Taiwan, pursuing an artistic career was considered a snub as a way to make money, and I was frequently told by adults to study more practical subjects, or else I'll end in the streets starving to death.
My mom has always encouraged me to do whatever I wanted and did anything she could to assist me achieve my dreams. After coming back to the United States and graduating high school, I realized that I wanted to pursue art as an occupation.

I was accepted to ArtCenter College of design, studying Illustration with the intention of going into feature animation. However, along the way I came across motion graphics and fell in love with their versatility as well as all the incredible work created by people I greatly admire.

How would you describe your style?
It's still a long path to finding the fashion that I'm able to call my own. I am prone to be drawn to trying new things every so often... A month I'll feel like doing extremely vibrant things. Soon I'll want to explore more naturalistic colors; I'll be really into a shape driving style for a while and then, in the next day, I'll become bored and want to try a style that's based on the lines.

Sometimes, I'll attempt to merge opposite things that I find intriguing like I'm on a never-ending journey to explore and learn. However, after experimenting a at times, I'm noticing the specific shapes, colors, compositions that I am drawn to. Perhaps that's a start of an aesthetic?

That's a big reasons I enjoy working at Oddfellows Sometimes I cannot believe that I'm fortunate enough to be working with a team of insanely talented people. We are required the ability to change our style from project to project, almost every project is done with different ways which is why I am constantly discovering new information from my peers every single day.

What are the most important things to consider when creating your illustration?
I love to draw drawings of subjects I am curious or interested in and then give my own spin to it.
Most importantly, I love having fun. It is my opinion that having fun is essential to creating something that viewers are able to see that a creator was having fun performing some thing... it adds shine.

While fighting the epidemic, and seeing my colleagues and our studio trying their best to help the community, I was inspired to create a Patreon named Joy&Frens which gives 50% of the net earnings go to the charities of my patrons choice. On it, I share Tips & Tricks, process videos, and invite my friends to collaborations and share their wisdom.
My work can also be seen my work on Instagram as well as on my web site.
