Subscription Dashboard Reporting Calculation Improvements
The MRR as well as the ARR calculation
Previously upgrade, downgrades and add-ons were occasionally not recorded or properly handled in subscription reporting. These issues have been addressed in the past, and calculations should become more accurate in the future.
What changes should I expect to see in My Store?
If you are a heavy use of upgrades, downgrades, or add-ons You may notice that you MRR and ARR fluctuate slightly resulting from the updated calculations. These calculations are more accurate than the previous ones, thanks to these fixes. If you are still unsure you can contact us at [email protected].
Historic MRR Changes
Previously, we used the date of deactivation to check for the date of cancellation and would then remove MRR contributions. This could have the unfortunate side effect changing the historical MRR values. In order to address this issue the issue, we've updated our analytical tools to detect cancellation events on the day that cancellation occurs and take away MRR contribution on that day.
Examples of changes
Let's consider an example of an annual subscription that was activated in January 2023. It was cancelled in May 2023, and later deactivated in the month of December 2023. Our previous MRR contribution calculation wouldn't be changed until the end of the end of December 2023. This could have altered the MRR contribution over the course from May through December 2023.
In the present, using the dates from the example above, our calculation immediately takes away the MRR contribution to the account beginning with cancellation in May of 2023, resulting in a more accurate MRR changes calculation.
What changes should I expect to see in My Store?
Some sellers may cause a slight increase in cancellation counts and an increase in the MRR of subscribers and customers who are active. If you're interested in more information about this reporting, please contact us at [email protected].
