Minimalist collages - The CreativeMindClass Blog
The other day, I was able to catch Olga sharing Instagram posts about my hometown from my youth. Within Warsaw's concrete jungle, there is a less-known and sacred green area. I often visited it in the summer to stare at the beautiful pine trees and breathe in the fresh air of nature in my urban airways. In her story, Olga visited this area in her first visit, but she was also fascinated by one of the most beautiful gardens in Warsaw. It is my bet she will create a Boernerowo inspired painting.

We inquired with Olga about her process for making her minimal collages and paintings of human-shaped landscapes
"My Name is Olga Szczechowska, and I'm living in Warsaw. Since I was a little youngster, I've been painting and drawing a lot. I attended the art high school, and took classes in painting and Cultural Studies at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun.

I'm an illustrator, painter occasionally a graphic designer. My work is a examine the interplay between humankind and nature by closely observing how we shape the natural world around us. When I look at hedges that have been trimmed, decorative plants, and meticulously designed home gardens I'm capturing the eerie environment that surrounds us."

"For several years I have made simple collages. The compositions are drawn from landscapes, still life, or are made as the result of experiments with shapes, textures, and colours.

My style is heterogeneous because painting and collages are quite different. However, they do have something in common: they soothe. I have heard this term from my audience many times I believe it is an accurate description of the essence of my art. When I'm tired of painting, I make collages. The reverse is also true. The one style serves as an way to escape the one.

I think observation is key. I carefully observe everything that surrounds me, nature, architecture, and objects. This is evident in my art. In my works, you don't see any person, but you get the feeling of human presence in trimmed hedges or in a mug left in the kitchen table."
