The family tradition of creativity is a constant source of inspiration for artist and illustrator Kentaro Yoshida. His mothertoo, an artist, has played a role in his work, even when she wasn't a huge supporter of his career choices. "First she was not a fan of me becoming a full-time artist. She probably realized it was difficult, because of her personal experience. It was a challenge however I decided to take on the task and was fortunate enough to not fall," Kentaro says. "She is certainly the greatest persona I have ever met."

Kentaro is from the fishing town of Toyama, Japan, but moved to Australia when he was 18 and currently lives in Sydney. Moving to Australia led to an impressive full-time job as an artist selling prints, paintings and customized surfboards, as well as murals as well as collaborations with top musicians and brands.

Discover more about the way by which Kentaro came up with his distinct aesthetic, and also how his website has grown with him over the past decade to help in his art and reflect his distinctive personal style.
