How would you describe your style?

It's somewhere between stylized as well as real-life fantasy illustrations. I rely on a variety of aqua and muted color palettes and tend to work with organicand flowing forms. I believe that my "style" as a fantasy illustrator is heavily influenced by the colors I use as well as the subjects I choose to draw but not always what the painting is done. I previously worked in a much more line-oriented style , but recently I've been transitioning into a looser and more painterly style.

What is the key for creating drawings of fantasy art?

I'm constantly re-examining them until the image looks closest to the way I envision it in my head (within reason, otherwise I'd spend months on a single painting). It's my goal to make my designs more complex to the limit and never settle for an unsatisfactory illustration. I'd rather spend a lot of time trying to get my perfect fantasy image than rush through the process.

Where can people see your fantasy illustrations?

I'll be part of the upcoming "Oceans and Currents" exhibit in Gallery Nucleus during July! In the meantime, you can find me through Instagram. There are prints available through my store Bandcamp If anyone is curious!

Also, I have a Youtube and Bandcamp to those who are interested in my music and I'll be releasing more songs very soon.

Brigitte's Background

I graduated at my school, the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I work currently in the industry of entertainment arts as conceptual artist and illustrator. I also have an ongoing artistic project, known as Pearl Farm in which I draw illustrations. I also write and sing original songs.

The illustrations for the article come drawn from my own work, Pearl Farm. It's my original story that follows a travel troubadour named Vinny and her pet Ray Hubble as they make their way across the world called The Lofty Coastline.
