When I'm free I enjoy doing 30 mins to 1 hour study or explorations, where I can do whatever feel like during the day. This really helped me improve but it also made me realize which things I was interested in.

These days I really like to pay attention to the color of light and how to explain things in a way that is simple so that I do not have to get too specific on all of it. I tend to keep my shapes very close to the real world However, as time goes on, I want to try to push shapes more and be more stylized with my art.

Before I begin painting, generally speaking, I like laying out my main shapes first either in BW, or simply straight using the color. When I believe it's important, I start with linework first. Once I have a good foundation, I prefer to draw into the light shapes as well as shadows on layers. It is not until that point do I start to paint or render it in a variety of ways, from huge to tiny particulars.

To create the Streets of London painting I employed a similar method. In order to have clean edges and keep things neat, I made use of a number of layers. I also put the main light on another layer.

The layers make me less worried about making mistakes. However, once I feel comfortable with the stage I'm in with the painting I start to combine a couple of elements, but only keeping the things I consider essential.

Colors to me are an "feel" factor, so I go with those that feel right. There are a variety of references which I use to assist me in choosing the correct colours. Sometimes I mix references and others I use only just one.

It's definitely a good idea to study the theory of light and colour, so that you are aware of what can do to make your global color palette and the values better.

It's hard for me to say what the key to making my work... I like to experiment with diverse styles, techniques, as well as subject matter and be in the spirit of other artists.

It's still early on my art journey and continue to try to determine what I'm like as an artist and my personal style. The main difference nowadays is that I don't really worry about it nearly as much as I used to , and I'm sure that's making significant changes.

My Personal Background

My name is Bjork and I'm a graphic artist. I'm currently employed as a Concept Artist in games.

I come from a small island called"the Faroe Islands and have always been creative in some form, be it via drawing, storytelling, or whatever. I graduated with a BA in CG arts at The Animation workshop in Viborg, Denmark, in 2019 and started my first job in London in the following year.

Today, I'm mostly being a concept designer at Envar Studios but also do occasionally freelance work.

In general, I'm more present in Twitter as compared to the Instagram platform. For those who want to buy prints I sell them on Inprnt.
