Colored Pencil Flower - The CreativeMindClass Blog
If I could pick just one word to represent my drawing style I would choose 'Spring'.
I'd like for people to view my illustrations and feel like they're blooming, as if a spring warm with flowering blooms.

Cottagecore is the lifestyle I prefer and cherish. It could be because I'm from Seoul the largest city in Korea, so I admire the natural beauty and rural lifestyle more than what my eyes see every day.
So rather than spreading intensity instead, I prefer to express a peaceful and serene mood that is as I do in nature.

What is the key to making your illustrations?
First, I'd like to share my favorite things I find inspiring in. I find joy from the smallest items. The blooms I find in the garden and the gentle whispers of flowers fluttering when the wind blows, even a small blossom at the corner of a road I pass while walking.
My work is mostly inspired by small wildflowers. Landscapes that are natural from botanical encyclopedias, and landscapes from rural areas are also part of my inspiration. I keep a large amount of information through images and usually take notes of color pencil ideas.

Then, let's look at the method of working. I sketch to the degree of large-scale details in the manner of actual flowers. I also express my feelings by using the use of color.
I use sharp colored pencils that precisely express the shape that the flowers take. I then set a soft warm and cozy atmosphere using pastel tones rather than strong hues.

It is also my preference to put the plain and texture of paper using the paper flower technique to create the appearance of flowers in bloom.
Instead of drawing just for fun I feel that making papers with flowers can create a more beautiful atmosphere. This is the closest representation of what I have in my head.

My name's Yeo Jin. I'm an artist with a colored pencil. illustrator and writer located in Seoul. My artwork is based around flowers because they always provide me with joy!
I have so far published six colored pencil tutorial books. I've also worked with brands for illustrations. I currently give lectures to new drawing students and am also making products that can be sold in stores online and local boutiques.
I have my colorful pencil art through Instagram as well as through my website.
I'd like to present my YouTube channel. My vlogs revolve around travel but also have numerous travel sketches and inspirations (mostly colored pencil art) which I create during my adventures.
