5 reasons to join our New Slack Community: Global SaaS leaders •

Mar 23, 2022

The version that is TL;DR of this article is as follows:

  • We have just launched a brand new (free!) Slack community: Global SaaS Leaders.
  • This opportunity is open to executives at established SaaS and software companies (including founders! ).

We're starting a new free Slack group

Because community is awesome!

No, seriously.

Yes, there are others SaaS and software-based communities in the world. A lot of them are fantastic.

However, when we considered developing the kind of community that uslike to be part of, we saw an opportunity to develop something completely new.

We created Global SaaS Leaders as a place with five distinctive characteristics:

1. Global perspective

We found many SaaS and software communities that were U.S.-based or centered on a particular location.

Global SaaS Leaders will be different. could be somewhere in the U.S., but our customers and the wider SaaS community is spread out throughout the world..

As we grow the community, we'll become focused on acquiring a wide membership and a global perspective.

2. The design is geared towards leaders of long-standing SaaS and software companies

One of the most engaging software chats we came across online revolved around the idea of starting an entirely new SaaS company.

Discussions like this are useful for anyone looking to begin building a SaaS.

In the end, we noticed it was actually very difficult to locate helpful discussions between the leaders of well-established software and SaaS firms.

That's why we've decided to establish a community for SaaS entrepreneurs who think about expanding and scaling up an established software company instead of building the minimum feasible products or seeking seed financing.

If you're a lifestyle entrepreneur that has a self-funded SaaS which is currently generating $10,000 per month, we'd love to connect you with other entrepreneurs similar to you.

Similar to if you're the developer director at a venture-backed company that just crossed $10 million per year.

That will be our focus in Global SaaS Leaders: to make a place where you can talk about the specific challenges you face once you have reached the point of product-market-fit and begin to grow.

3. Professionally moderated

It takes a dedicated and skilled moderator (or group with moderators!) to create a positive, welcoming culture within a community.

We've gained a lot of knowledge from the Reddit community r/entrepreneur, as an example.

Yet even the most reputable communities such as this can struggle to the focus. It's interesting that the number. #1 thread of the year a combative post about how cryptocurrency has been overwhelming the newsfeed:

Katie Stephan and Nathan Collier (authors of this article!) is the initial moderation team as we launch our Global SaaS Leaders community.

Collectively, we've spent over a decade in the field of moderating online communities, with thousands of members.

Furthermore, building and launching this community is part of our job descriptions.

The conversation will remain focused on SaaS and software -- and we'll ensure that you don't need to contend with unwelcome offers, spam and personal attacks. trolling of any kind.

4. Not solely focused on venture capital or funding rounds.

No matter what your situation is, we don't care. bootstrapped, venture-funded, private-equity purchased, or some other ownership model.

Global SaaS Leaders won't be a event that is primarily focused on financing rounds or exit strategies.

We hope instead to provide a space to have discussions about revenue, hiring, profit, tools and pricing strategies, technological infrastructure and everything other that can contribute to the growth of a successful software business.

It's OK for members to periodically discuss funding. It shouldn't be the only discussion.

5. The most helpful SaaS as well as software communities online

Certain online communities can be dangerous places.

Whoever you are, wherever you're from and what you're from, we want that you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and engaging in our online community.

Katie me and Katie will try all that we can to cultivate a positive, supportive society in this brand new one. And we won't tolerate individual attacks, bigotry, racism, sexism, or any other disrespectful conduct.

Our target is no less than this: to create the most supportive SaaS and software community on the web.
